Tucson - Wine can be squeezed out of frozen grapes in places such as Ontario and Wisconsin. OK, I'll buy that. But winemaking goes to the other extreme in southern Arizona, where a cluster of heat-hardy folks grow grapes and produce credible wines in the Sonoita Viticultural Area, which was established in 1984.So if you are hanging out like a lazy lizard in Tucson this time of year, it's worth the hour drive southeast of the city to visit this almost-booming wine area where tumbleweed seems more believable than vineyards.
